We foster collaboration among scientists, promote innovative scientific solutions, and act as a bridge between the scientific community, the government, and the public.

Our Key Initiatives

Capacity Building Initiatives

The Scientists of Kenya Association is leading when it comes to scientific associations and societies that are championing capacity building.

We build capacity in different ways, such as through mentorship programs, webinars, workshops, seminars, and conferences.

Our target audience for these initiatives are young scientists, early career researchers, and younger professionals in Science, Research, Technology, and Innovation.

We also front our members in scientific events that are taking place both within Kenya and beyond. We mobilize resources from different stakeholders to conduct these initiatives considering that we are a non-profit organization.

Career Growth Opportunities

The association assists members in career growth opportunities by holding internal and external sessions.

Since the association consists of senior and junior scientists, the seniors position the juniors in better opportunities, such as lobbying for industrial attachment for students, internship opportunities for graduates, and job opportunities.

This is also facilitated since different opportunities are shared on the member’s forum.

Scholarships

As an association, we have several links with leading universities from different universities worldwide.

We also have international members who offer scholarship opportunities to younger scientists and scholars.

Institution/Industry/Factory Visits

The Scientists of Kenya Association has ventured into taking members to scientific institutions and industries for learning and experience purposes.

We enable members to visit research centers, Testing and Calibration laboratories, Manufacturing Industries, and government agencies that support and champion the cause of science.

Mentorship Programs

The Association conducts mentorship programs more so in Colleges and Universities.

We also assign senior scientists (mentors) and some junior scientists (mentees) to bridge the gap between senior and junior professionals in science.

We will also be introducing programs for both Primary and secondary school science mentorship.

Networking Opportunities

As a platform that consists of scientists at different levels and specialties, members can network productively with individuals of their expertise.

In our physical activities and engagement, members network at different levels, and this leads to the creation of opportunities.

Fostering a Scientific Culture in Kenya

We will be launching Sayansi kwa Watoto na Vijana.

This is an initiative that will be visiting Primary and Secondary schools mentoring and coaching the students on different scientific fields they may be interested to explore. We will be training them on different equipment in laboratories, research designs, and why they should pursue science.
