On March 15th, Daystar University, Athi River Campus, hosted the inaugural International Pi Day celebration in collaboration with the Scientists of Kenya Association (SCOKA). This groundbreaking event brought together students from various institutions nationwide, all eager to participate in STEM Challenge Competitions and showcase their scientific and mathematical skills.
A major highlight of the event was the presence of the esteemed Chief Guest, Her Excellency Dr. Joyce Kithure. She led the celebrations with enthusiasm, recognizing and applauding the exceptional innovations presented by students. In her speech, Dr. Kithure emphasized the critical role of STEM in shaping the future, encouraging young minds to pursue excellence in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. She also launched the Science Adding Value to Environment (SaVE) initiative, a program aimed at integrating science into environmental conservation efforts within communities.
The STEM Challenge Competitions provided a platform for students to demonstrate their problem-solving abilities, creativity, and passion for scientific discovery. Participants engaged in exciting challenges that tested their knowledge and application of STEM principles, fostering a spirit of innovation and collaboration among attendees.
