Exciting Announcement from the Scientists of Kenya Association (SCOKA) in partnership with National Research Fund Kenya
We are thrilled to share that SCOKA in partnership with National Research Fund Kenya will be introducing a Mentor-Pairing Program in January 2025, aimed at fostering collaboration and knowledge exchange within the scientific and Research community in Kenya. This innovative program is designed to connect senior scientists with Early career Researchers across a variety of disciplines, creating a supportive environment for professional growth and development.
The Mentor-Pairing Program will cater to a diverse range of participants, from science students to experienced professors, and will encompass several key fields, including physical sciences, biological sciences, forensic science, food science and technology, and environmental sciences. By pairing mentors and mentees, we aim to bridge the gap between academic learning and real-world application, providing junior scientists and early career researchers with the tools they need to navigate the complexities of the job market.
Through this program, mentees will gain invaluable insights into industry expectations, best practices, and career pathways, while mentors will have the opportunity to share their expertise and contribute to the development of the next generation of scientists. This initiative not only enhances individual careers but also strengthens the overall scientific community by fostering collaboration and innovation.
We invite both mentors and mentees to apply for this transformative program. If you are a senior scientist looking to make a difference in the lives of emerging scientists, or a junior scientist eager to learn and grow, we encourage you to submit your application. Together, we can create a vibrant network of support that empowers our scientific community and drives progress in our fields.
Let’s work together to inspire and cultivate the future of science in Kenya!
